Cerrantes receives award from Tennessee School Boards Association

Whitney Cerrantes, a student at South Side High School, was chosen by the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) as one of the 9 district award winners across the state of Tennessee to receive the Student Recognition Award.

Cerrantes receive the award during the TSBA Fall District Meeting, September 9, in Lexington, TN.  She will also be asked to attend TSBA Annual Convention in Nashville to be considered for the statewide award. 

Cerrantes will write a 1,000 word essay and be interviewed by a panel of judges.  The statewide winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship and plaque.

This is the second year for the award and the Jackson-Madison County School System has had a district winner both years.
