South Side Choir Needs 10 Male Singers
Thursday, October 01, 2009

Leah Sandifer, South Side's chorus teacher, said she needs ten male singers to join the choir.

"It is important that we get more guys so that we can have a thicker sound, be more balanced and it brings more depth," said Sandifer.

"I have forty-four total students in choir," Sandifer said.

"I have a total of six guys and need ten more," said Sandifer.

Sandifer said she thinks the choir is going to be good this year.

"Our best singer so far is senior Kayla Hardin," said Sandifer.

Sandifer said Colton Hunt is the best freshman singer she has so far.

"If we get balanced, we are going to go pretty far," Sandifer said.

All-West auditions are October 3rd.

On October 22nd the women's chorus is performing at Denmark Elementary.

On Wednesday, Sandifer's first block class warmed-up by singing "Do, Re, Mi."

She played a melody and the students had to tell her what melody she was playing.

Next they practiced singing "Music of the Night."

If you are a student at South Side, and are interesting in being in the choir, you are invited to after school rehearsals.
